Project

The aim of the Optimo project is to increase teachers' knowledge of speaking in a second or foreign language and teaching that skill. In addition, we want to make available different exercises and methods for use in lessons. The starting point of the project is the idea that language acts as the key to integration into another culture and opens new doors for immigrants. From the point of view of interaction, oral language skills are particularly important. 

In the Optimo project, we specifically examine language as a tool and enabler of communication. The project involves language teachers from four different language areas, and the languages taught do not have the same grammar, phraseology or pronunciation. The aim is to focus on putting thoughts into words and strengthening interaction through various exercises and by challenging to think about how these skills could be further developed both inside and outside the classroom.
